African Giants Bring Heat to US Club World Cup

FIFA expanded its Club World Cup to 32 teams for 2025. The tournament runs from June 14 to July 13 across the United States. Clubs from six regions compete for the global title. Inter Miami faces Al Ahly from Egypt on opening night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Four African teams joined the competition.

Al Ahly plays three group matches starting with Inter Miami on June 14 at 2 AM local time. Espérance from Tunisia meets Flamengo, Chelsea and Los Angeles FC during group play. Mamelodi Sundowns from South Africa battles Ulsan HD, Borussia Dortmund and Fluminense. Wydad AC from Morocco takes on Manchester City, Al Ain and Juventus in their group.

European giants Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City headline the field. South American powerhouses Palmeiras, Boca Juniors and River Plate bring strong competition. The knockout rounds begin June 29 with the Round of 16. SuperSport acquired broadcast rights for Sub-Saharan Africa and will show all 63 matches on DStv.
