Africycle in Zomba just dropped 12 bikes worth K4 million to Faith Organization Shine Relief, and the gear is going straight to kids who have to trek forever to get to class. Suzen Zidana from Shine Relief said the donation showed up at the perfect time because orphans and teen moms they support can finally stop walking ridiculous distances to school. She mentioned one bike runs between 300 and 400 thousand kwacha, which is why they never could have bought them without help.
Benjamin Voss from Africycle said they handed over the bikes because they have a solid thing going with Shine Relief, and they actually gave them 20 bikes before this round. A Form 2 student named Bridget Kenneth said getting to Malindi Secondary School on time means she can actually focus on her work instead of showing up late and exhausted.
