After 11 years Police FC finally snatch league crown

Kenya Police Football Club became champions after waiting eleven long years for the top prize. The team earned their first league title since forming back in 2014. They tied one goal each against Gor Mahia during their final game at Ulinzi Sports Complex. Police had already won the championship the week before when they beat Shabana FC. The victory gave them 65 total points compared to second place Gor Mahia who finished with 59 points.

Players showed up to the stadium riding fancy Mercedes cars and wearing sharp blue suits with red ties. Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga came to watch along with other important government officials. The ceremony featured a brand new trophy that no other team had ever held before. Many empty seats showed that fans did not come out to celebrate their team. Club officials hoped more supporters would attend such an important day for Kenya Police.

The team struggled badly during their first eight matches and won just one game. Everything changed when they hired coach Etienne Ndayiragije from Burundi last November. Police went unbeaten for thirteen straight games after he took charge. Captain David Ochieng felt happy to win his second championship after thirteen years between titles. The defender thanked his teammates and coaches for working hard throughout the season. Kenya Police will represent the country at next year's African Champions League tournament.
