Airtel Money's Back-to-School 'Pay and Win' program is almost over. Many parents have won prizes, which shows that Airtel Uganda wants to help more people use money services during school opening time.
The program started on January 27, 2025. After paying school fees this way, more than 400 winners each received 100,000 Ugandan shillings in their Airtel Money accounts. Airtel has given back over 40 million shillings since the program began.
With this program, parents find it easier to handle school costs. They can pay fast and safely without waiting in long lines or dealing with slow payments.
Sulaina Kulabako sells things at a market in Entebbe. She won and said, "I felt very happy and excited, but first, I thought it was fake. I later saw it was real and felt very happy. I had paid my child's school fees by pressing *185*6#, then entered my child's school code and finished the payment. Someone called to tell me I won. Thank you, Airtel. I tell everyone to pay school fees with Airtel money for a chance to win."
Hope Ekudu leads Airtel Money Operations. She said the company wants to help all people use banking services. "At Airtel Money, we understand the money pressures during back-to-school time. We want to give parents a fast, safe, easy way to pay school fees and reward them for using digital payments. Many people answered our program, showing more Ugandans see the good things about mobile money. As we reward the last winners, we keep trying to make money moves easier, more rewarding, and open to everyone."
A few days remain for parents to try winning 100,000 shillings. To enter, press *185#, pick option 6, Pay Fees. After paying school fees, you join the contest. Winners are picked randomly each week. The last winners will be named on February 28, 2025.
