Aisha Yesufu says Wike handed Rivers to Tinubu

Activist Aisha Yesufu criticized Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike for what she considers a strategic political error. Yesufu argued that Wike undermined his political leverage by transferring control of Rivers State to President Bola Tinubu. She made these statements through social media following the recent political conflict between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Wike. The activist believes this decision eliminated Wike's primary source of political influence. Yesufu suggested that Wike seeks attention while creating unnecessary political tension.

The activist explained that President Tinubu gained direct administrative access to Rivers State through Governor Fubara. She predicted that Fubara would demonstrate loyalty to the federal administration rather than to Wike. Yesufu contrasted this situation with the Federal Capital Territory, which she described as more difficult to control politically. She dismissed land distribution as an insufficient method for securing political allegiance. The activist urged citizens to concentrate on electoral processes and preventing manipulation by focusing on institutional personnel rather than the institutions themselves.
