Wike hails Tinubu for Rivers oil appointments

Watching politicians celebrate recycling their friends into high offices never gets old. Nyesom Wike hyped up Bola Tinubu for nominating Magnus Abe as Board Chairman of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission. The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory also cheered for Kenneth Kobani getting a spot on the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority. This praise happened during a visit to Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area within Rivers State, where Wike claimed the president keeps promises.

Magnus Abe previously sat in the Senate for two terms, representing the southeast district. He also held a position on the National Agency of the Great Green Wall. Kenneth Kobani served as Secretary to the State Government back when the current FCT minister ran things locally. The nominee also worked as Minister of State for Trade during the Goodluck Jonathan era.

Wike argued that Rivers State never received this level of federal attention since its creation. He insisted the volume of appointments for locals remains unmatched. The politician claimed these moves prove the administration honors agreements made behind closed doors. He urged residents to back the current leadership for a reelection bid in 2027 because of these handouts.
