Al-Hilal edges City 4-3 in epic Club World Cup clash, faces Fluminense next

Al-Hilal shocked the football world when they knocked out Manchester City 4-3 at Campin World Stadium. The Saudi team pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Club World Cup history. City looked strong early when Bernardo Silva found the back of the net after just ten minutes. Al-Hilal players shouted for a handball penalty against their English opponents. The referee ignored their protests and play continued.

Marcos Leonardo brought the Saudi side level right after halftime with a clever finish. Malcolm put Al-Hilal ahead seven minutes later with a brilliant strike. Erling Haaland answered back for City three minutes after that to tie things up again. Both teams headed into extra time with the score locked at two goals each.

Kalidou Koulibaly thought he had won it for Al-Hilal four minutes into overtime. Phil Foden came off the bench to rescue City with an equalizer in the 104th minute. The match seemed destined for penalty kicks as both sides traded blows. Leonardo stepped up as the hero for Al-Hilal eight minutes before the final whistle.

Savic sent a header toward goal that the City keeper could only parry away. Leonardo pounced on the loose ball and slammed it home for the winner. The Saudi champions celebrated wildly as they secured their place in the quarterfinals. Al-Hilal will face Brazilian side Fluminense in their next Club World Cup match.
