Al-Hilal nears 53 million euro deal for Darwin Nunez as Inzaghi targets attack fix

Al-Hilal approaches completion of Darwin Nunez's transfer from Liverpool. The Saudi club established a verbal agreement worth 53 million euros plus performance bonuses. Italian coach Simone Inzaghi recommended the Uruguayan striker to strengthen their attack. Liverpool accepted the substantial offer after lengthy negotiations. Personal contract discussions with the 26-year-old player continue.

Nunez began his professional career with Penarol in 2016 before moving to Spanish club Almeria. His impressive season there earned him a transfer to Benfica, where he scored 48 goals across 85 appearances. Liverpool subsequently acquired him following their Champions League encounters. His Premier League tenure produced 40 goals and 26 assists over 143 matches. Former coach Leonardo Ramos compared his abilities to Cavani and Suarez, praising his physical presence and positioning skills near the goal.
