AMD crushes Intel in CPU sales with massive lead

AMD continues its market dominance over Intel in client CPU sales, with German retailer Mindfactory reporting stark disparities during a recent sales period. The retailer shipped approximately 2,260 AMD processor units compared to just 220 Intel chips across all product lines, according to data shared by TechEpiphanyYT.

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 7800X3D accounted for roughly half of AMD's shipments, with each model moving over 500 units. Intel's strongest performers, the Core i5 14600K and Core Ultra 7 265K, managed only 20 units apiece. Budget offerings like the Ryzen 5 5500 outpaced Intel's entire lineup despite prices between 70 and 90 dollars.

AMD maintains approximately 90 percent market share at the retailer while commanding over 90 percent of revenue, with an average selling price exceeding 300 euros versus Intel's 243 euros. Analysts suggest Intel's upcoming Arrow Lake refresh processors may struggle to reverse the trend since gaming performance drives consumer purchasing decisions.
