AMD debuts Ryzen 7 9700F Zen 5 CPU with 8 cores, no iGPU

AMD quietly introduced four processors across its Zen 4 and Zen 5 product lines. The company launched the eight-core Ryzen 7 9700F processor without an official announcement. ASRock confirmed these releases through a press statement detailing motherboard compatibility updates. The motherboard manufacturer announced support for the new chips through BIOS version 3.30.

The Ryzen 7 9700F features eight cores and sixteen threads based on Zen 5 architecture. This processor lacks integrated graphics functionality similar to other F-series models. Early specifications suggest a 3.8 gigahertz base frequency with potential 5.4 gigahertz boost speeds. The chip maintains identical cache configuration and thermal design power ratings as its X-series counterpart.

ASRock confirmed compatibility across its entire AM5 motherboard lineup through firmware updates. These boards span multiple chipsets from premium X870E models to budget A620 options. Pricing estimates place the Ryzen 7 9700F at a retail cost between $250 and $290.
