AMD fixes its RX 9060 XT mess by punishing PC builders

AMD restricts its Radeon RX 9060 graphics card to original equipment manufacturers. The budget GPU utilizes a reduced NAVI 44 architecture with 1792 Stream Processors and 8GB GDDR6 memory. System builders receive exclusive access to this hardware through prebuilt computer configurations. The company launched this product approximately two weeks ago, but it is not yet available in retail stores. AMD representatives confirmed this distribution strategy during discussions with Quasarzone.

The graphics card manufacturer may expand distribution channels later. Current pricing for the RX 9060 XT stands at $300 through retail outlets. AMD estimates the standard RX 9060 would cost between $249 and $269 for individual consumers. The company supports system integrator business growth through exclusive partnerships. This approach addresses consumer confusion regarding memory configurations between 8GB and 16GB variants of existing products.
