AMD FSR Redstone debuts in Black Ops 7

AMD's FSR Redstone technology has made its initial debut in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 with the introduction of its Ray Regeneration feature. This machine learning-based component acts as a real-time denoiser for ray-traced effects, designed to produce sharper visuals with fewer artifacts than traditional denoising methods.

The feature represents just one part of the complete FSR Redstone suite, which also includes a Neural Radiance Cache and machine learning-powered super resolution and frame generation. AMD initially announced that this technology would be available in new AAA titles.

A significant limitation for widespread adoption is its reported exclusivity to the latest AMD Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards, which are based on the RDNA 4 architecture. This restriction prevents most current AMD GPU owners from utilizing the new feature.
