AMD GFX13 Leak Spills Wild UDNA GPU Secret

AMD plans to create new graphics chips under a fresh design called GFX13. This name appears in leaked code files shared online. Reports suggest AMD might change from RDNA to UDNA for the next architecture generation. The leaked information shows a feature named Wavegroup coming to these chips.

UDNA marks a big shift because AMD wants to use it in both standalone graphics cards and computer processors with built-in graphics. Current RDNA 4 chips only work in separate graphics cards. UDNA chips will likely use TSMC's N3E manufacturing process for better performance. Most upcoming Zen 6 computer chips might still use the older RDNA 3.5 graphics rather than UDNA.

AMD aims UDNA chips at high-end users who need powerful graphics. This helps AMD compete in areas it skipped with RDNA 4 products. Factories should start making UDNA graphics cards around spring 2026. Until UDNA arrives, AMD continues releasing more RDNA 4 graphics cards in the RX 9000 series. The company plans to announce the RX 9060 XT card at the Computex tech show soon.
