AMD RX 9070 GRE Smokes 7900 with 6% Edge

Chinese shoppers can already reserve AMD's Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card ahead of its May 8 release. This contradicts earlier rumors about delays until late 2024. Major retailer JD.com lists the ASUS version with a triple-fan cooler.

The card needs dual 8-pin power connectors and a 750W power supply. It runs at 220W total board power. Official AMD marketing materials confirm the launch date is drawing near. The RX 9070 GRE uses the same Navi 48 chip as other RX 9070 cards, but with fewer active parts to lower costs.

Tech specs show 3072 cores running up to 2790 MHz with 12GB of memory on a 192-bit bus. The memory runs at 18 Gbps for 432 GB/s bandwidth. Prices start around 4199 RMB at some stores, which equals about $450 US after removing China's 20% tax.

These GRE models typically sell at manufacturer-suggested prices. More details should appear soon about this new graphics option from AMD.
