AMD Zen 6 Medusa Point hits 16,555 in Geekbench

AMD's Zen 6 Medusa Point chip just flexed its hardest Geekbench numbers yet, and the single-core result is breathing down Snapdragon X2 Elite's neck. The 10-core sample, tagged Ryzen AI 9 565 on AMD's Plum-MDS1 board, posted 3,329 single-thread and 16,555 multi-thread. That outpaces all x86 mobile CPUs listed and nudges close to desktop parts like the Ryzen 9 9900X.

Clocks sit at 2.0 GHz base with a 5.37 GHz boost, backed by 10 MB L2 and 32 MB L3 cache. Multi-thread performance lands within striking distance of the Ryzen AI Max+ 390, which is wild for a mainstream notebook part. Versus the current Ryzen AI 9 365, this sample pulls roughly 33 percent ahead in multi-core.

And yeah, standard ES disclaimer applies. Firmware, power limits, and memory configs can all shift before retail. But repeated appearances with steady gains suggest Zen 6 is tracking well. Medusa Point should slot in as the Ryzen AI 500 family against Intel's Panther Lake, while Gator Range handles the higher-performance tier on the identical Zen 6 die.
