Union Home Minister Amit Shah ordered the creation of a specialized federal team to address rising natural disasters across Himachal Pradesh. The team brings together specialists from the National Disaster Management Authority, Central Building Research Institute Roorkee, Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology Pune, geological experts and Indian Institute of Technology Indore. Federal authorities deployed an Inter-Ministerial Central Team for damage assessment from July 18 through 21 without waiting for state requests. Thirteen National Disaster Response Force units conduct rescue operations throughout the affected regions.
