Anamoah gushes over Otumfuo's fancy funeral

Broadcast journalist Nana Aba Anamoah praised Otumfuo Osei Tutu II during her appearance on UTV's United Showbiz program. She declared the Asantehene Africa's most powerful monarch after witnessing the Asantehemaa's elaborate funeral ceremony. The journalist emphasized how the royal event demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and cultural preservation. Traditional leaders from across Ghana attended the ceremonial proceedings alongside diplomatic representatives and prominent figures. Anamoah highlighted how the gathering showcased national unity through diverse participation from multiple regions.

The final funeral rites for Nana Ama Konadu Yiadom III occurred from September 15 through 18, 2025, at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi. The late Asantehemaa, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at 98 years old, received elaborate ceremonial honors befitting her royal status. Anamoah commended the Ashanti Kingdom for successfully blending traditional customs with contemporary media coverage. She noted how the televised proceedings allowed broader audiences to appreciate Ashanti cultural heritage and authority. The journalist stressed that non-Asante citizens could still admire the kingdom's historical significance and ceremonial grandeur.
