Tan Sri Anifah Aman, the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah candidate for Bongawan, has pledged to develop the constituency into a major oil and gas hub. The Parti Cinta Sabah president stated that this plan is a central component of the coalition's local manifesto. He expressed confidence in its feasibility, citing his experience as a former foreign minister and his prior role in establishing the Sabah Oil and Gas Terminal in Kimanis.
Anifah Aman outlined that the proposed energy hub would stimulate the local economy, create numerous jobs for the youth, and modernize the area infrastructure. He asserted that such development would provide Bongawan with a new identity as a significant energy center for the state. He called on voters to grant him a mandate to ensure the community directly benefits from this major initiative and to complete what he described as an unfinished legacy.
