Anyone here getting real sales from ChatGPT, or is the hype way bigger than the results? I'm just trying to work out if that traffic is worth chasing. And if it is, how are you folks getting ChatGPT to mention your stuff?

Yeah, people find shops through ChatGPT and end up buying. So the traffic can be worth it. Just don't treat it as a quick hack for sales.

I'd start with the basics you'd use for Google. Can bots get to your pages? Is the site easy to read? Does it answer what buyers want to know? Start there.

Then look at trust. Reviews help. So do business listings, brand details across sites, and mentions from places people know. You want more than your own site saying you're great.

Add pages that spell out what you sell, who it's for, what it costs, and why someone might pick it. FAQs help. Give people facts, not fluff.

One catch: ChatGPT isn't Google. You can't lock in a spot in its replies. Schema tags and AI tweaks won't make it pick you...

Sales can be hard to trace. Someone might see your name in a chat, then go to Google and look you up. That sale may not show as ChatGPT traffic at all.

So keep an eye on AI visits, test the same kinds of buyer questions now and then, and track leads or sales too. Raw clicks don't tell the full story.

For me, SEO comes first. AEO and GEO can build on that. No magic trick, just make it easy for both people and AI to find out who you are and why they should trust you.
