The Apostolic Faith Church of Southern and Central Africa kicked off its two-week camp meeting at headquarters in Nhlozamandla Mabindisa Village under the theme of prayer strength, and Reverend Jeriphanos Shumba opened the gathering that runs through early January. Board secretary Reverend Osias Mutasa said around 400 people already showed up from Zimbabwe, plus international branches in Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and the UK, with more expected as holiday schedules open up.
The church is celebrating 70 years since Reverend Morgan Sengwayo founded it back in the 1950s, and the program features baptisms along with a kids' nativity performance on Christmas. An overnight music event will bring everyone into the new year while ministers hold separate sessions before the main services start.
