Apple's AirPods Pro 3 are listening to your heartbeat

Apple announced the AirPods Pro 3 during its September 9, 2025 hardware presentation, delivering notable enhancements over previous models. The company doubled the active noise cancellation effectiveness compared to the Pro 2 and quadrupled performance against the original Pro version through advanced microphones and computational audio processing. Engineers redesigned the acoustic architecture and added next-generation Adaptive EQ technology, producing deeper bass tones, clearer high frequencies, and more distinct vocal separation. Battery performance extends to eight hours with active noise cancellation enabled, representing a two-hour improvement from the Pro 2 model.

The updated earbuds feature foam-infused silicone ear tips across expanded size ranges, enhancing comfort and passive noise isolation. Apple integrated a heart rate sensor, transforming the audio device into a health monitoring tool for fitness enthusiasts. The company positions these improvements as evolutionary refinements rather than revolutionary changes, targeting athletes, frequent travelers, and gym users who benefit from enhanced audio quality and health tracking capabilities. Consumers can place pre-orders immediately, with official retail availability beginning Friday, September 19.
