Army, police repel bandits in Katsina, APC hit, Nabiha saved

Nigerian military forces and police officers successfully defended Soro Daya village against armed attackers during the early morning hours on September 19. Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported that suspected criminals attempted to invade the community at approximately 1:15 a.m. within the Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State. Military personnel responded rapidly and confronted the assailants near the Soro Daya junction through intense combat operations. The attackers managed to destroy the front tire and side windows of a police armored vehicle before fleeing toward nearby forest areas.

Rescue teams recovered 15-year-old Nabiha Mani, who sustained a bullet injury to her leg during the confrontation. Medical staff at the Comprehensive Health Centre in Matazu provided initial emergency care before transferring the teenager to Orthopaedic Hospital in Katsina for specialized treatment. The joint security response prevented what could have become a larger community assault. Military officials confirmed that no additional casualties occurred during the engagement with the criminal group.
