The Bangladesh Army uncovered a hidden base of the United People's Democratic Front on Monday morning in the forests of Panchhari upazila, Khagrachhari. Troops, acting on a tip, began the raid at about 5 a.m. in the Jubneshwar Para area. The group's commander, Sumen Chakma, escaped as the team arrived, but the army later found weapons, ammunition, banners, walkie-talkie chargers, mobile phones, and sharp tools at the site. The Inter-Services Public Relations office reported that UPDF members forced locals to chant anti-army slogans and involved women and students in their activities, as the army continues efforts to ensure civilian safety and protect national sovereignty in the hill districts.
