Army wants all hands on deck to crush North-Central chaos

A senior military commander in Nasarawa State is pushing for tighter cooperation between different security groups. Major-General Olurotimi Azubuike-Awolo, who leads the Four Special Forces in Doma, stated that no single agency can handle the complex threats in the North-Central region alone. He made these remarks during a traditional military social gathering known as West African Social Activities.

The commandant emphasized that joint efforts are essential for effective intelligence sharing and for launching coordinated strikes against terrorists, bandits, and kidnappers. He credited his own unit's successes to the command philosophy of the army chief and praised the professionalism of his troops during training and missions under Operation Whirl Stroke. Azubuike-Awolo also explained that the annual social event strengthens bonds between soldiers, their families, and civilian communities.

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, represented by his security commissioner, Usman Baba, thanked the armed forces for maintaining relative peace in the area. He pledged continued government support through provisions like operational vehicles and other logistics. The gathering featured cultural dance performances, a tug-of-war competition, and awards for distinguished military personnel.
