Arsenal pays Brentford a meager €10m for captain Norgaard

Arsenal grabbed Danish midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford during the summer transfer window. The 31-year-old midfielder signed a deal that runs until summer 2027 after impressing everyone at Brentford. Norgaard played 196 matches for the Bees and scored 13 goals while setting up 18 more. He captained the team last season and proved he can handle the pressure. The veteran player brings loads of experience to the Gunners squad.

Norgaard has played all over Europe before landing at Arsenal. He started his career at Lyngby and Brøndby in Denmark before moving to Hamburg in Germany. The midfielder also spent time at Fiorentina in Italy where he learned the tactical side of the game. Denmark picked him for their national team 35 times since 2020. His international experience will help Arsenal compete at the highest level.

Arsenal kept the transfer fee secret but sources say they paid 10 million euros for Norgaard. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the price tag on social media. The midfielder will wear the number 16 shirt when he joins training camp. Sporting director Andrea Bert and manager Mikel Arteta both praised the signing. They believe Norgaard will add balance and depth to their midfield options.
