Arsenal in talks to replace Thomas Partey with Brentford's Christian Norgaard

Arsenal have begun searching for Thomas Partey's replacement after the midfielder decided to leave the club. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Partey will depart as a free agent when his contract ends this month. The Ghanaian player has not signed a new deal with Arsenal despite the club's efforts. Romano shared the news on social media platform X on Wednesday. Several top European clubs want to sign Partey during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners have started talks with Brentford captain Christian Norgaard about joining their squad. Romano reported that Arsenal officials are actively discussing a move for the Danish midfielder. Norgaard currently leads Brentford and has impressed scouts with his performances. The Premier League club views him as the ideal candidate to fill Partey's role. Arsenal want to complete the signing before the new season begins.

Partey has attracted interest from major clubs across Europe since announcing his departure. Juventus have shown strong interest in bringing the 31-year-old to Italy. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring his situation closely. The midfielder previously played for Atletico Madrid before joining Arsenal. His experience and skills make him an attractive option for many teams seeking midfield reinforcement.
