Aryan Khan mocks drug cop in Netflix show, gets sued

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has initiated legal proceedings against Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix in Delhi High Court. The defamation lawsuit targets the web series "The Bastards of Bollywood," which Aryan Khan directed. Wankhede alleges the show portrays him falsely through a character who resembles his actions during a 2021 cruise ship raid. The officer claims the content damages anti-drug enforcement agencies and undermines public confidence in law enforcement.

The legal action seeks Rs 2 crore in damages, which Wankhede plans to donate for cancer treatment at Tata Memorial Hospital. He contends the series violates national honor laws and information technology regulations. The case stems from Wankhede's October 2021 operation against alleged drug possession on a Mumbai cruise ship. Aryan Khan faced arrest but received clearance when authorities found no substantial evidence against him.
