Asantehene Tells Komfo Anokye Board to Shape Up

Ghana's king met with the new hospital board at his palace. Otumfuo Osei Tutu II told the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital leaders to put patients first. He warned them against prioritizing personal goals over public service. The hospital treats millions of people across the region. Leaders must work together and spend money wisely.

The king supports a major repair project worth $10 million. Hospital CEO Dr. Paa Kwasi Baidoo aims to lead the fundraising efforts. The renovation will repair the damaged areas of the medical center. Board members visited the palace to meet the traditional ruler. They asked for his help with the ambitious plan.

British government projects have stalled at the hospital. A children's wing and maternity ward remain unfinished. The delays started when Ghana joined an international bailout program. President Mahama promised the king that construction would restart soon. Trade talks with Britain may restore the original funding agreement.
