Ashanti police nab gang stealing cash from parked cars

Police caught five people who steal money from cars around Ashanti Region. The group uses two cars and watches people take cash from banks. They follow victims and break into their vehicles when nobody looks. Police Commander Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe told reporters about the arrests on Monday. The thieves have been working together as a team for months.

The criminals park one car near a bank and watch for targets. One person stands outside and spots people carrying lots of cash. He tells his friends in the second car when someone leaves the bank. They follow the victim until that person parks and walks away. The group breaks into the car with a special tool and takes the money.

Russell Ekenze drives taxis and is 29 years old. Francis Friday works in politics and is 49 years old. Linus Agwazie sells things for a living and is 51 years old. All three men come from Nigeria and admitted they work with more criminals. Two other suspects also got arrested for the same crimes.

Gifty Ozurumbam and Gladys Ibrahim run a drinking place together. They hid Cosmas Maduabuchukwu after he got shot during his arrest. Police found out he was staying at their bar in Kenyanase. The women would not tell officers where he was hiding. Both ladies got arrested for helping a criminal escape.

Police also caught Williams Ofori Atta for killing someone. He shot Emmanuel Kwabena Boakye and took his phone. The suspect told police he murdered the 28-year-old man. Officers found the dead person's phone when they searched him. This happened in a different part of the country.
