An international forensic team will arrive in Dhaka next month to identify the remains of victims from last year's mass uprising buried at Rayerbazar Martyred Intellectuals' Memorial. Local government adviser Asif Mahmud announced that specialists will begin exhumation work at the graveyard after reaching the capital, with authorities preparing a temporary morgue and operational camp for the investigation.
The bodies were interred without identification following deadly confrontations during the anti-government movement. Mahmud expressed confidence that forensic analysis would enable officials to name all deceased protesters and add them to the official martyrs registry maintained by authorities.
