ASRock outs budget Rock boards that still bring PCIe 5

Budget builders finally caught a break since ASRock just launched the Rock motherboard series. This lineup targets users wanting Intel LGA1851 or AMD AM5 sockets without buying total junk. Four distinct models cover different needs: B860 Rock WiFi 7 and B860M Rock WiFi handle Intel chips, whereas B850 Rock WiFi 7 and B850M Rock WiFi serve AMD fans.

Two full-sized ATX boards fit standard towers, while microATX variants squeeze into smaller cases. Surprisingly, ASRock standardized premium stuff like 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet and pre-installed rear I/O shields across the whole family. PCIe 5.0 capability also comes standard for next-gen graphics cards and speedy storage drives.

Intel B860 ATX units support Core Ultra Series 2 CPUs with four DDR5 slots, handling 256 GB max. Speed freaks can push memory to DDR5-8666+ when overclocking. Storage options feature one Gen5 M.2 slot alongside two Gen4 versions. The smaller B860M trims RAM slots to two but keeps that critical PCIe 5.0 x16 graphics slot.

AMD B850 ATX boards accept Ryzen 9000 through 7000 processors with similar quad-slot RAM support, hitting DDR5-8000+ speeds. Expansion relies on one Gen5 x16 slot and some slower lanes. MicroATX versions here also drop to dual memory slots but retain Gen5 storage capabilities.

Wireless tech splits the pack because WiFi 7 models get Bluetooth 5.4, while microATX units use older Wi-Fi 6E. Audio duties rely on the basic Realtek ALC897 codec. AMD versions definitely win on longevity thanks to BIOS Flashback for future upgrades.
