Assan Martin Slams NPP for Misusing State Resources at Congress

Assan Martin, the leader of the National Alliance for Change, says the government should not use public money for political events. He thinks this is a form of corruption.

Many government officials went to the NPP's meeting in Jarra Soma on Saturday using their official cars. This has caused a big debate among people in the Gambia.

Martin says political parties are private groups. They should not use tax money for things like meetings and campaigns. He wants the ruling party to stop "abusing and misusing" public funds.

He claims the NPP government and the one before it both did this bad thing. He says there is a lot of corruption in the Barrow administration. "This needs to stop," he stated.

Martin also criticized the Barrow government's "we don't care" attitude. He thinks they are not good at running the country. "They rely on propaganda and have no principles," he argued.

He accused the government of selling state assets without caring about the country's pride. But he believes most Gambians are smart and won't be fooled.

Martin says the Barrow government has no successes to talk about. He claims they only waste money on expensive cars while the poor suffer.
