Atebubu MCE supports persons with disability with 37,000 cedis

Twenty-one individuals with disabilities in the Atebubu-Amantin Municipality received financial assistance totaling 37,000 cedis during a distribution ceremony led by Chief Executive Masud Musah Ayarba Thomas. Educational grants went to 20 recipients, with amounts varying from 700 to 1,000 cedis based on academic level, while one person obtained 6,000 cedis for prosthetic equipment.

Emmanuel Bukari, municipal director of the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, indicated that additional beneficiaries would soon receive mobility aids and specialized devices. Future disbursements will target economic initiatives through farming support and income-generating equipment such as refrigerators and food processing machines.

Thomas emphasized governmental commitment to supporting persons with disabilities, citing former Chieftaincy and Traditional Affairs Minister Henry Seidu Daanaa as evidence that physical limitations need not restrict achievement. Recipient representative Mary Boaduwaa Ware pledged responsible use of the funds for their designated purposes.
