Audient has launched Horizon, its top-tier Thunderbolt 3 interface family for pro studios. Yep, the core setup uses 32-bit conversion and hits 0.99 ms for a 192 kHz round trip. Audient leaves proprietary DSP hardware out, while the host runs native plugins. Audient says development took five years.
Horizon 8P covers tracking with 24 inputs, 32 outputs, eight Audient Console Mic Preamps, and ORBIT Control impedance adjustment. Horizon 16 fits hybrid rooms with 34 inputs and outputs, 32 conversion channels over four DB25 ports, and a stereo mix bus. Horizon 32 gets 50 inputs and outputs, while eight DB25 ports carry 64 analog channels.
And one macOS driver can manage 200 inputs and 200 outputs with four connected boxes, all Horizon 32 models. Each 1U metal chassis is fanless and carries ADAT, word clock on BNC, recallable settings, adjustable reference levels, and three years of warranty coverage.
