Kenyan lawmaker Babu Owino is doing damage control after blogger Maverick Aoko went after the Odinga family online, and he wants everyone to know he had nothing to do with it. The Embakasi East representative put out a statement saying Aoko posts whatever she wants without his input, even though people assume he feeds her content since they're friends and she backs his political moves.
Owino stressed that attacking the Odingas makes zero sense for him because he's tight with basically the whole clan, especially Mama Ida Odinga, who treats him like family and feeds him when he swings by. He pointed out that going after someone's mom would be completely unhinged when that person has been nothing but kind to you for years.
The politician is clearly trying to patch things up with the powerful family while keeping his friendship with the controversial blogger intact, since she's been hyping his plans to run for Nairobi governor.
