Banda Calls Chakwera Dishonest Over False Promises

Joyce Banda has spoken out against President Chakwera with harsh words about his leadership skills. The former president claims Chakwera lied to both her and ex-President Bakili Muluzi about plans for the Cyclone Freddy Foundation. She points out that despite many promises, Chakwera never actually met with them to discuss important details as he said he would.

Banda seems especially upset that Chakwera would mislead someone as respected as Muluzi. She also accuses the current president of falsely claiming credit during his State of the Nation Address. According to Banda, housing projects Chakwera bragged about actually started under her leadership years ago, not his administration.

The former leader expressed deep concern for everyday Malawians who face tough times without help. She believes the late Vice President Chilima had better ideas about helping regular farmers succeed instead of just focusing on huge farming operations. Banda directly connects current fuel problems and high prices to money troubles facing the nation.

She firmly believes these economic problems stem from the government's poor management skills. From her perspective, President Chakwera simply lacks the necessary qualities to create meaningful improvements across Malawi. Her comments represent some of the strongest criticism yet from a former national leader about the current administration's performance and truthfulness.
