Bangladesh grants free internet as the July Uprising Day sees 1 GB for all users

Bangladesh's telecommunications authority declared July 18 as Free Internet Day to commemorate the July Uprising. The Posts and Telecommunications Division granted every mobile subscriber across the nation one gigabyte of complimentary data. Users can access this free internet allowance over a five-day period starting from the designated date. The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission directed all cellular operators to implement the initiative through official instructions. Wednesday's notification confirmed that telecom companies received orders on July 9 to prepare for the nationwide data distribution.

The government initiative aims to fulfill public aspirations while honoring the July Uprising's significance. Mobile phone users throughout Bangladesh will receive automatic access to the promotional data package. The regulatory commission's Systems and Services Department released details about the program through formal channels. Telecommunications operators must ensure proper delivery of the free internet service to their customer base. The five-day validity period allows subscribers extended time to utilize their complimentary data allocation.
