Bangladeshi professor joins NASA as space education ambassador

NASA has chosen Dr Md Manjurul Ahsan for its STEM Education Ambassadors program. The Bangladeshi academic serves as a research assistant professor at the University of Oklahoma. This selection represents a significant milestone for Bangladesh within international scientific communities. The program spans one year and equips educators with specialized training. Participants gain access to NASA's comprehensive STEM education resources and platforms.

Dr Ahsan brings exceptional credentials to this role. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed research papers across artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and additive manufacturing fields. Twenty-five publications list him as the primary author. Global databases rank him among the top 0.5 percent of worldwide scholars in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Several of his papers appear among the most-cited engineering research within the top one percent globally.

This appointment highlights Bangladesh's expanding influence in scientific research. Young students from Bangladesh and other nations may find inspiration through Dr Ahsan's achievements. His ambassadorship role will help advance STEM education on a global scale.
