Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla, Noakhali river ports on alert as storms loom

Bangladesh Meteorological Department issued weather warnings for four regional areas on Friday morning. Authorities directed river ports across Barishal, Patuakhali, Cumilla and Noakhali to display cautionary signal number one. The alert remains active from 9:00 am through 6:00 pm today. Weather forecasters predict rain and thundershowers will strike these locations with strong winds. South and south-easterly gusts may reach speeds between 45 and 60 kilometers per hour during the warning period.
