Barrow's promise kept - D5m tractors for Ndofan, Toroba

Two four-wheel drive tractors worth more than D5 million reached rural communities through a government partnership between PACD and UNDP. Ndofan village in Lower Nuimi and Toroba community in Lower Badibou received the agricultural equipment during Friday's ceremony at Kerewan's Governor's Office. President Adama Barrow had pledged this support during his previous Meet the People Tour visits. Alieu Loum from the Office of the President emphasized the government's commitment to rural empowerment through agricultural initiatives. Officials plan to provide training programs on group management and business skills to equipment recipients.

Agricultural Engineering Services Director Mustapha Minteh highlighted the mechanization progress while confirming operator training completion. North Bank Governor Lamin Saidykhan urged communities to form management committees for proper oversight. Community representatives Pajain Marong and Momodou Bah promised transparent handling of the resources. Lawmakers praised the delivery as part of broader development efforts transforming rural areas. The initiative supports national food security objectives while strengthening agricultural productivity across the North Bank Region.
