Bashundhara Shuvosangho conducted a health awareness campaign on Saturday in the char areas of Ulipur, Kurigram, targeting underserved communities along the Brahmaputra River. Abdul Ohab, a health assistant from Hatiya Union, led the initiative at Jhalangarkuthi and counseled pregnant women on nutrition, antenatal care, and maternal mortality prevention. Teenage girls received personal health guidance and tetanus vaccination recommendations.
Ohab emphasized infant breastfeeding and instructed parents on child hygiene practices such as handwashing, deworming medication, vitamin supplementation, nail trimming, and immunization schedules. Local women expressed difficulty accessing distant medical facilities and requested medicine distribution alongside health education. Noor Alam Siddiqui, Rokanuzzaman Manu, Sajadul Islam, Abu Sayeed, Enamul Haque, and community leaders attended the event.
