Bayern Pounces on Nico Williams Deal

Bayern Munich started negotiations with Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao for a summer transfer. Sky Sports reports that Max Eberl met with the winger's representatives recently. The sporting director discussed terms with agents representing the Spanish player. Williams agreed to consider joining the German champions after initial talks. Both sides want to explore the possibility of completing a deal.

The 22-year-old winger demands 20 million euros per year as his salary. Bilbao set his release clause between 60 and 65 million euros for interested clubs. These high financial demands make quick negotiations challenging for Bayern. The Bavarian club needs time to structure their offer properly. Williams becomes their top target to replace departed players.

Bayern seeks a replacement after Leroy Sane left for Galatasaray during recent transfers. Williams impressed scouts with his performances throughout last season. He appeared 45 times for Bilbao across all competitions. The Spanish winger contributed to 18 goals through scoring and assists. His pace and skill make him perfect for Bayern's attacking system.
