BEAC rolls out the NG2020 app to fight counterfeit banknotes across Central Africa

The Central African States banking authority released a smartphone application designed for banknote verification purposes. The BEAC NG2020 software assists users in detecting authentic Type 2020 currency series through digital comparison tools. Android and iOS device owners can download this free application from major mobile platforms.

Security professionals and citizens access detailed authentication guidance through the program's interface. Watermark identification, serial number verification, and security thread recognition represent primary detection methods featured within the software. Touch-sensitive impressions and incomplete design elements provide additional verification techniques for users.

Advanced authentication requires ultraviolet lamp technology to reveal fluorescent characteristics embedded within genuine banknotes. Dynamic three-dimensional patterns become visible when users tilt the currency at specific angles during examination. The banking institution emphasizes that fraudulent currency circulation damages economic stability and victimizes unsuspecting individuals. Public adoption of this verification technology strengthens collective defense against counterfeiting operations targeting regional monetary systems.
