Beng'i Issa warns youth on spending at the Dar event

Tanzania's youth must prioritize saving over spending if they hope to achieve their aspirations, according to National Economic Empowerment Council Executive Secretary CPA Beng'i Issa. Speaking at the launch of the Chase Your Dreams Foundation in Dar es Salaam, he criticized young people who spend beyond their income and urged them to cultivate financial discipline rather than borrowing for consumption.

The foundation operates five programs targeting school leavers, entrepreneurs, and financial literacy. Director Lightness Makondo noted that 1,200 young people have already received training in education, entrepreneurship, and financial management since the organization began operations in March 2024. She described the initiative as providing mentorship and practical support to help transform aspirations into concrete achievements.

Beng'i emphasized that national progress depends on youth participation and expressed confidence that the foundation would reach significant numbers within five years. He encouraged young Tanzanians to utilize government opportunities, including procurement windows and loans, while warning that success requires planning and action rather than idle dreaming.
