Benue police grabbed a guy named Yongu Justine Makwagh from Kadarko in Nasarawa State after tracking him for months, and they picked him up at Balcony Park in Makurdi. The DPO from Daudu ran the operation with backup from some special IRT officers, and authorities believe this suspect was behind a bunch of attacks on cops in the area.
Makwagh apparently had connections to the deaths of two Safer Highway officers at Yelwata and two DOPS guys in Daudu, and weapons went missing after those incidents. Police consider this arrest a pretty big win since they've been trying to take down bandit groups operating around Benue and the states next door, and the suspect is getting questioned while investigators try to find more weapons and figure out who else was involved.
