Benue Youths Rip Down APC Flags on Tinubu Visit

Young people in Benue State tore down ruling party flags during President Tinubu's visit. The president changed his travel plans from Kaduna to Benue after deadly attacks killed entire families in local communities. Critics had blamed Tinubu for not visiting the state earlier despite the violence.

Videos show angry youth removing APC banners meant to welcome the president. Protesters accused Tinubu of campaigning for 2027 elections instead of showing real sympathy for victims. Hundreds of demonstrators chanted against the government and refused to accept more party symbols.

Some footage captured people running from what sounded like gunshots and tear gas. The cameraman said police were using crowd control methods against the protesters. Local traditional ruler King James Ayatse rejected claims that farmer-herder disputes caused the killings.

The Tor Tiv leader told President Tinubu the violence represents organized land grabbing by terrorist groups. He called the situation a planned genocide campaign that has continued for many years. The king demanded stronger action to stop the attacks on his people.
