Berkane Bags CAF Glory with Last Gasp Equaliser

Renaissance Berkane captured the African Confederation Cup after drawing 1-1 with Simba from Tanzania. The Moroccan team had built a strong lead from the first match. Joshua Motali put Simba ahead early during the 17th minute. Soumaïla Sidibe scored the tying goal for Berkane deep into stoppage time. The final score showed Berkane winning the championship on total goals.

Berkane had won the opening game 2-0 at home. The combined score from both matches gave them a 3-1 victory overall. Their path to the final included beating CS Constantine from Algeria. The Moroccan club defeated the Algerian team 4-1 across two games. Simba reached the final after eliminating Al-Masry from Egypt through a penalty shootout following two 2-2 draws.
