Bidi back in court for selling the dead woman’s house

A repeat offender faces additional fraud allegations after authorities say he orchestrated the illegal sale of property belonging to a woman who died three decades ago. Andrew Tichaona Bidi allegedly conspired with three fugitive accomplices to falsely claim kinship with the late Munyira before Zimbabwe's Master of High Court in September 2023, securing authorization to register her estate and subsequently dispose of a Chitungwiza residence at 2364 St. Mary's.

Janet Mawunde purchased the dwelling for 10,000 dollars that November, but encountered obstacles during ownership transfer procedures when Bidi became unreachable. Relatives of Munyira, who passed away on December 18, 1994, informed Mawunde that the property was never listed for a legitimate transaction and that multiple buyers had appeared claiming purchases.

Police arrested Bidi following Mawunde's complaint, with investigators determining the entire payment amount remains unrecovered. Court documents indicate the accused has confronted comparable charges previously.
