Bitok extends free state WiFi to four schools in West Pokot

Julius Bitok presided over the WiFi launch ceremony at four West Pokot County educational institutions on Thursday. The Principal Secretary for Basic Education oversaw connectivity installations at Ortum Mixed Secondary, Holy Rosary Girls Secondary, Saint Francis Ortum Boys Comprehensive, and Saint Bernadette Ortum Girls Comprehensive schools. Government officials attended the celebration alongside regional education leaders and community representatives.

PS Joel Arumonyang joined the proceedings with Leonard Kirui, the Regional ICT Officer from the ICT Authority. Local stakeholders witnessed the digital infrastructure milestone that marks expanded internet access for rural students. The connectivity project supports broader governmental objectives to enhance educational technology adoption across underserved regions.

Students and educators gain access to online learning platforms through reliable broadband connections. The digital initiative addresses educational inequality by providing high-speed internet to remote communities. Teachers can utilize web-based resources while students explore expanded learning opportunities through enhanced connectivity.
