Black Ops 7 beta overrun by cheaters on day one

Cheaters infiltrated the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 multiplayer beta within hours of its early access launch on Friday for pre-order customers and Xbox Game Pass members. Activision challenged hackers by stating that Team RICOCHET would monitor and remove cheaters as they appeared. Social media reports show players using aim-bots and wall-hacks despite developer claims about enhanced anti-cheat systems. Treyarch banned confirmed cheating accounts after detection, but the company has not implemented preventative measures such as Secure Boot protections found in Battlefield 6.

The beta opens to all players on Oct. 5 after the initial early access period ends. Players questioned whether kernel-level protections serve their purpose when cheaters compromise matches before removal. Developers face ongoing battles to minimize cheating impact as long as multiplayer games exist. The anti-cheat system caught violators after they ruined matches for legitimate players who pre-ordered the game.
